Reference Section ... Suggestion

Not sure if this would fly but figured I'd share another thought...

I think it would be great if there was a reference section for specific tracks. Many fans like to ask questions about songs and sometimes numerous people have something to offer. Personally, I enjoy reading background info about specific tracks.

For Example:
Komradz
- unreleased
- only acapella leaked
- featured Artists include Big Syke, ...
- remixed for Better Dayz, but did not make album
- edited lyrics are...
- Da Brat dissed because....
- original beat contained the sample ??? and ???
- produced by ???? in 1996 during the makaveli era
- etc. etc.

Perhaps the Track Reference section could be divided like the Lyrics section...

Retail
Unreleased
Original
Guest Appearance
Compilation/Soundtrack
etc.

Having a thread dedicated to a specific song may prevent people from asking the same questions over and over again. And to by honest, I forget so much stuff and often go searching long threads just to find out who produced a certain unreleased song.

Moderators or Thread Posters would be responsible for updating the first post will all relevant information including indicating whether it's fact or rumour.

Not sure if this type of reference would warrant some attention .. but perhaps worth thinking about.

that would take a lot of work and also sounds like a good idea, but at the same time we have a thread 'have a question about a 2pac song' so i dont know

I love this idea...I hate looking through pages and pages to find info.
but this would take a hell of a lot of work.

This is a great idea, I agree, it would also prevent people from keeping all this false information spreading.

Agreed .. it would take a lot of work .. we need to look at it as .. it's just one song at a time. As the questions arise (no different than "Ask a Question..."), a thread is created containing all the information. This particular reference section will always be a Work In Progress. As new information (from interviews, leaks, etc.) is uncovered ... and the question is asked ... the thread is created (or expanded if one already exists).

I'm glad there's others who also see the benefits of having such database.

this is actually a fantastic idea and will really liven up the reference section. i will make the sections and then you guys can get to work on the songs. as ironman said, just take it one song at a time.
