I think VLC is the best really for playing videos. It supports like every video file created out there. For playing music just use Itunes / Windows Media Player. They hardly ever seem to crash well for me at least.

What about Flac format... Vlc doesn't play all the songs I download in flac.. I mean in one album it happens ( it just happend two times ) that one song doesn't work with Vlc, I don't know what the problem is..

i use switch sound converter for flac files.you can convert the flac files into any kind of file you want mp3,wav,mp4,etc....
i have a keygen for it also ,if you decide to go with switch sound by nch.

VLC for video in general as it plays everything.

Winamp for audio as it plays everything too, but its still light, anyone with a library of over 100gb in wmp knows what im talking about.

You've never heard of VLC? VideoLAN - VLC media player - Open Source Multimedia Framework and Player
I'm with you on gom though, never heard of that program. But trust me VLC is all you need for video files. It also plays mp3s and all that good stuff as well.
