are these members really banned from the site? they are the ones that are like a light pink color. they all say banned under them but i have noticed that the name is different between lots of different users..sometimes it's "hitman" "elite" "rookie" or a custom looking one. i dont know how to change it but i'm assuming it's a rank deal.. anyways are the pink ones really banned from the site?

Just joking, yeah they are light pink, everything else is still the same as when they were active members so thats why you see what you see in the user titles, which changes depends on your activity and posts etc, the more you do the better title you get

the names below your username are called "user titles" these are a part of the system and are similar to a rank system as you stated. while user titles are completely customizable, the system allows me to add default user titles when certain posts counts are reached, for those who never bothered to change their user title. below is a screen shot of the names. I did these real quick back when the site first was set up back in 2008, but I think it may be time for an update. I will add some more titles and spread it out so they change or "rank up" quicker. if anyone has any suggestions on default user titles, let me know

looks like your a sergeant major now i updated the user titles. when i have it finalized ill post here.
so the bots programs that are designed to post on forums with advertisements to make the programmer money. they also in some cases can put viruses. because of protection against auto bot sign ups on the site, usually they are started by a human, but then once logged in, they are programmed to roam free and try and post. this is why the auto bots you see online all the time are always trying to create a thread, even though they have no permissions to do so
