  • 20 post count required for posting links

I think this requirement should be lowered or scraped, some of the best & biggest internet boards & forums I've been on are those that are open with minimal requirements and restrictions. I wanted to post some zippyshare links to 2Pac mixes but restricted due to lower then 20 post count.. At least make it 20 post count or registered more then 15 days.

There's enough moderator & staff on here to handle spam to not need 20 post count. The 2Pac community is far and wide across the web and should not be restricted

I think the Conditions here are better then on other Boards! We have the Chance here to become this all 4 FREE, remember that. For that you get here VERY MUCH

So it is appropriate to be a little active here if you are here for the Passion of 2PAC, if you are here to make advertising then maybe it is the wrong place here

This 20 post thing was added to stop posting from a lot bots on the site. Who were posting a lot bullshit, porn, racist shit etc.

Cmon making 8 more posts is not that hard.

It ain't that difficult to get 20 posts, you can get that in 1 day
and you don't even need to spam to obtain them cuz there's plenty of good stuff to reply too

as L-Booma stated, these restrictions were put in place due to constant spam attacks we were receiving. while we try to have staff spread out throughout the world so that someone is on at all times, it is pretty much impossible to have a staff member on at all times, without making half the staff a mod.

in as little as 5 minutes, someone here to spam can make 10 posts. we have seen this happen dozens of time on the site. racial slurs, gay porn images, religious hate, and other extremely offensive content have all been posted in the few minutes when a staff member isn't around. while this may not seem like a big deal to some, to others the content was VERY offensive, and I have actually seen a member leave this site and not return after seeing some stuff posted during one of the attacks.

they are not bots, or anyone using known bad IP addresses, but rather actual people who have it out for this site who do the attacks. banning the accounts/IP's does nothing, as all the person needs to do is clear their cache and restart their modem to start fresh.

this left us with 2 choices, force all new accounts to be moderated, or a combination of restricting links/images/videos and offensive words that new accounts can use.

forcing all accounts to be moderated prevents new members from using the site until a staff member approves it. i found this to cause new members to become disinterested, or believe something is wrong with the site, leaving me no choice but option 2

the restriction used to be 10 posts, but I found that it wasnt enough. 20 posts seems better

you can very easily put a space in one of our links somewhere, and instruct people to remove the space, or simply post 8 more times. if you were really interested enough in the site to put your links here, than you should have no problem posting 8 more times

Ok, thanks for the explanation. I do visit the forum weekly/monthly but not actively posting as much (I do browse and read posts) but as explained above the 2Pac community is far and wide across the web which I do favor this forum a lot but I still view and like 2Pac-Forum's interviews which I'm subscribed to on their utube channel as well as the many DJ's etc.

It was more of a suggestion and not a complaint and the mixes are not my own but other peoples I was posting them up to see if any members could identify the mixer so I could add credit to the tracks metadata (for self reference)
