  • Post auto-joiner plugin?

    Dear Mr. President,

You know when you post in a thread, and then come back right away and post in the same thread again, how you end up with two posts? I know there must be a plugin that automatically joins them, so it doesn't clutter of the thread. They have something like that over at XDA-Developers.com and it's really slick. I'm assuming the use the same forum software, maybe it's not so.

That is something I miss every time I use this forum!

Also it would be nice to have the option to disable the auto-insertion of a Youtube video when you just want to post the link. Not really important, jus' sayin'. It would be a nice luxury.

    Thanks!

XDA uses vbulletin, yes. We have considered this type of plug in before, but decided not to go with it. Instead of posting a new post, you can just as easily click the edit button and edit your previous post. We even raised the edit limitations specifically for this.

We found that there were multiple situations where members wanted to be able to post another post straight away, and a plugin like this would make it difficult.

For your second request, there are multiple ways to do this. You can use [CODE] youtube link [/ CODE] (no space after the /) or you can go to the advanced editor when making a post or topic and uncheck the "Automatically parse links in text" button.
