2Pac Forum Banner

anyone interested in suggesting an updated 2Pac Forum banner? i like the banner, but the 2Pac logo is so shit.

Not saying this is a good banner, its just a remake fixing the crappy logo. I don't usually make this kind of stuff. But hopefully some people will respond with better shit. maybe the admins will consider putting something new together if enough people support a new banner.

I like it but if you're going to flip the script then do it proper and change the "- Forum" into the same font so that it looks nice and continuous with the "2Pac" part and redo the "#1 spot" part in a nicer font too. Also, whilst you're there align the "Pac - Forum" with the top line of the "2" and not dipped slightly below and colour pick the green shade that the forum uses, applying it as a filter over the background whilst feathering Pacs face in as black and white over the top.

That will be all

BTW - Anyone else ever noticed how different Pacs face looks flipped?

I might try a second attempt, it was put together quickly, and that font was the closest i could find in my default font set on PS to what the forum uses on the current banner. I think there could be better fonts, or even a match to the 2PAC font that could be used for the Forum part.

i think my text /logo might be slightly too small as well, again its just a rough draft. I spent more time editing the picture (brightness, contrast, changing the levels to get a nice enhanced contrast to it) and texture graphing the last 20% to the right end of the banner since that was originally just empty black (the picture wasn't wide enough)

You could align the PAC-Forum part to the top of the '2' but i was hesitant because then its not the OG (yes I'm using OG since this community is obsessed with OG ) Logo once its adjusted.

You're right about the Green shade, personally I'm not down with this boogey green shit but the forum's default theme is green (I DONT KNOW WHY? IS IT MONEY!?) but yeah.

i guess if nobody comes up with their own banners and we wind up depending on me, i will make it a green shade to match the forum.

personally, I'm tired of all the green, and probably alone in that opinion - so if anyone else is tired of the green colours please say so, so that i know I'm not alone lol

Turns photos into something weird and usually makes the photo noise look really bad. This is a bit tricky I would say. Photographers usually spot oversharpening on the first look at a pic, but for example clients, who buy studio shots of their kids, often ask for ridiculously oversharpened photos.

Sharpening i avoid if it starts causing particularly noticeable 'aliasing'. But just so we all know - i did not sharpen the 2Pac photo, i took it as is from the Reisig and Taylor site, but they probably sharpened it to some degree.

and you're correct about the banner slut, the site's dimensions are larger than the actual image file it is sourcing, so its upscaled a little on the site when used.


I don't know what the rules of third are btw. What i can do, if somebody else is good at this, is i can supply a good edited photo - thats probably my main strength. I know how to use PS but i don't design ads for a living or anything like that.

For anyone who wants to work with the original photo (unedited) from Reisig and Taylor site, to remake the banner, its here. Its the highest known res we have of the pic as far as i know. Regis flipped the photo so i unflipped it personally.

I would still move Pac away from the center. Rule of thirds like stated before. Also not sure about the glasses. Pac wore glasses in 1 photoshoot, so it's an exception and doesn't portray Pac the way he is seen.

Yeah i agree, if i did a remake properly, i would have him more to the left and leave more room for a larger 2Pac Forum logo as well. when i quickly put this together, i wanted to texture graph the empty space as little as possible lol

you need to hit up the people who did the 'original 2pacforum' all there graphics are artwork was on point. now that I've started ranting the colour scheme could be outdated too.. maybe in a forum name change. never was a fan of '2pac-forum' lol. just feedback take with a pinch of salt hehe

if there was a theme inspired by the black and white i did, i would say PS1 greys lol like this:

and use a few colours on small things: i.e. notifications or new posts in the forum (the S4MN 2PAC logo part by the forums)
overall just different shades of grey, but nothing too bright/white or too dark.
