First off, Happy New Years to everyone.
As usual, we have a ton of announcements for the upcoming year.
As you know, in 2011 we relesed 2 phases of the reference section. The 1st initial phase, followed recently by the video archive phase. There are still at least 4 phases left, each just as big as the first two. I cannot go into more detail yet on any of these phases, but look forward to at least two of them in 2012.
From now until around May, we will be hosting a few things on the site to include another remix competition, a graphics competition, and another banner competition.
We will also be hosting battles in the Words of Wisdom section with anyone who wants to participate.
Today we will start sign ups again for member interviews. We did this before with about 10 members, but there are alot of new faces, so time to bring it back. Staff members will interview members, by any means you would like, such as phone, text, AIM, email, whatever you want. Please see a seperate thread in Letter to the President for member interview sign ups. If there is enough demand, we can have staff interviews as well. Higher ranking staff members can interview lower ranking staff, and we can figure out who will interview me.
All of the above will be starting in January and run us through May and into June. In June we will have the site 4th birthday bash, and start the summer awards. More announcements will come in June for the rest of the years activities.
We are also going to start a regular mixtape schedule. I am someone who always beleives in quality over quantity. So rather than dropping 10 garbage mixtapes a year like a few other places, we are going to stick to a solid 2 mixtapes. At the beginning of the year, the DJ's will work on a mixtape for about 6 months, for a June release. They can then start working on a mixtape for another 6 months for a December release.
Thank you all for another great year in 2011. Together with you we have secured our place at the top of the scene, and we aint stopping yet.
