With the increased activity on the site, there has been a huge increase in the amount of emails coming from the site. (PM's, Contact Us, Subscriptions, etc.) Because of this there has been some huge delays in emails going out, sometimes up to 3 or 4 hours, as the site tries not to bottleneck. I want this site to be better than that, so I have switched over to a new emailing system called SMTP.
This new emailing system is much better, but comes with one minor problem that you guys don't have to worry about, but which I will deal with for the site. ALL emails are now instantaneous, meaning as soon as a PM is sent, or subscription email needs to go out, etc, the email is sent and received instantly, with no chance in delay. The minor problem is we are limited to 250 emails per day, after which I am charged a few cents per email. Currently we are right around 200 emails per day, so until we get bigger this shouldn't be a problem, but either way, I will deal with the added charge, in order to better our site.
Please let me know if you experience any email problems, or if you have noticed your emails are arriving quicker, drop a note here. Its always nice to see positive things too.
