Tupac Named Most Popular Artist Among U.K. Prison Inmates
Tupac has been named the most popular artist among prisoners in United Kingdom jails.
According to The Mirror, 'Pac topped the National Prison Radio 2012 playlist, beating out Vybz Kartel, K Koke, Rihanna and Drake for the top position.
Rihanna is the only solo female artist to make the top 20, while Metallica placed as the highest band at No. 7. Eminem, Lil Wayne and Notorious B.I.G. also made the final cut.
NPR is broadcast to all 84,000 inmates and 4,000 of them requested songs. A host on one of the station's shows explained, "Listening to something heavy can be a healthy release from prison life.”
