  • User CP problem resolved

Ok so i finally figured out how to fix the User CP. Vbulletin.com and .org and even google were no help on this one. I had to come up with my own method. If you all would like to know what the problem was and how I fixed it I'll explain it....just let me know

ok so somehow the PMTEXT table in the database got corrupted, I believe from Go Daddy as a google search returned some others who had similar problems from Go Daddy. I tried using vbulletins repair/optimize tables tool but it did nothing. I figured I would try a restore. First I backed up the server to my computer (thank God I did this) to see if that fixed it. I did a restore like I have many time before, but this time it crashed, and some how corrupted the entire backups folder on Go Daddy and killed the server (forum).

Luckily I had that backup so I used that to restore the server, but now I had no other backups with which to fix the CP. I studied the database error I was getting to narrow it down to PMTEXT table as the problem. I then installed vbulletin 3.7.2 as a completely seperate forum, thus creating a new database with new tables. I then exported the PMTEXT table from that database, wiped that database and forum and imported the PMTEXT table. I then upgraded us to 3.7.2 (latest version of vb)

only remaining problem from the affect is that all the customized icons, buttons, etc got wiped and reverted to the default style ones (still have no fuckin clue how this happened). Luckily I had saved most of the customized ones. The only ones I didnt seem to have backed up was the status icons (invisible, online, offline). If any of you happen to have screen shots of the forum with the old ones in there please post them here so I can use those to recreate them. If not I will have to recreate from scratch like I originally did.

Also be on the lookout for any other problems on the forum from either the crash or the upgrade.

      Thanks

also, not sure what the PMTEXT table does, but some of may have lost PM's or something related to PM. I apologize for any lost information.
