Director Sam Mendes helms the movie, which features Javier Bardem as the Bond villain. British actress Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe share 'Bond girl' duties while the incomparable Dame Judi Dench returns as M and Ben Whishaw steps into the role of Q. Plot details are still undercover at present but Mendes has revealed that Skyfall is not based on any of Ian Fleming's books.
Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and Harry Potter star Helen McCrory (best known for playing Draco Malfoy's mother Narcissa) have all been cast in unspecified roles. Skyfall's release this October marks the 50th anniversary of the Bond franchise.
