Does this actually mean that after all the years a sequel to Beetlejuice is finally on the way with Michael Keaton in tow? STYD recently caught up with Seth Grahame-Smith, the writer for the proposed sequel of Beetlejuice 2.
“It’s a reality in the sense that I met with Michael Keaton last week,” Grahame-Smith told STYD. “We talked for a couple of hours and talked about big picture stuff. It’s a priority for Warner Bros. It’s a priority for Tim. Right now, I am writing an animated movie for Tim based on an idea of mine. Then I adapt Unholy Night [based on the upcoming book]. The third I am hoping is Beetlejuice in terms of writing schedule.”
Smith then went on to add, that Keaton had been wanting to do the film for the past twenty years and both of them don’t think they should do it if it ruins the legacy. At this time, Smith has a couple of early story ideas, but nothing to write home about. Tim Burton is attached to direct the project.
With Keaton involved I will wholeheartedly support this, but again, is it a little too late?
