Paramount has just hired The Town screenwriter Peter Craig to pen a sequel to Tony Scott's 1986 classic Top Gun.
The Hollywood Reporter calls Craig is a sizable get for the studio, which means they're probably pretty serious about the project. Likewise, Tom Cruise has previously expressed an interest in doing a Top Gun 2.
Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Skydance Productions will produce.
