Variety reports that the Two and a Half Men star will play the late Apple co-founder and tech entrepreneur in Jobs, a biopic spanning his hippie years to his reign at Apple.
Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote, Neverwas) will direct the indie production from a script by Michael Whiteley. Filming begins in May to coincide with Kutcher's hiatus from Men.
Sony is also developing a Steve Jobs biopic that Aaron Sorkin is adapting from Walter Isaacson's book.
