Adam Sandler's production company, Happy Madison, is planning a remake of the 1987 Carl Reiner comedy Summer School, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter. At this time, the actor is not attached to star, but that could change as things develop.
The original film starred Mark Harmon as gym teacher Freddy Shoop who, just before his planned departure for a highly-anticipated Hawaiian vacation, gets roped into staying behind and teaching a remedial English summer school course. Scripted by Jeff Franklin, the original starred Kristie Alley, Courtney Thorne-Smith and Reiner himself.
Sandler will be back on the big screen in the upcoming That's My Boy, as a voice in Hotel Transylvania and is prepping for his first sequel with Grown Ups 2.
