  • They Might Reboot Dukes of Hazzard

Eastbound and Down co-creator Jody Hill will write and direct an "untitled action project set in the American South" for Warner Bros. which, sources say, "could become a reboot of The Dukes of Hazzard."

Heat Vision says that while the story for the film is being kept quiet, it is set in the 1970s and features a pair of outlaws. But this won't be a Johnny Knoxville type caper; Hill reportedly wants to make an action film in the vein of iconic director Sam Peckinpah (The Wild Bunch).

The studio is waiting until the script is finished to decide whether or not it'll be another trip to Hazzard County, but producer Billy Gerber is attached to produce the film with Hill -- and he also made the 2005 picture which starred Knoxville and Seann William Scott.

Hill also made Observe and Report, the dark comedy which starred Seth Rogen as a mall security guard.
