Alex Proyas (The Crow, Knowing, Dark City -- but not in that order!) is in talks to direct and co-write Summit's Gods of Egypt, a fantasy "set against the legendary world of great pyramids and sphinxes."
Variety has the details on the project, which would Proyas would pen with Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless if the deal goes through. The trade paper adds that the film "follows a common thief and a god on a magical quest."
Sazama and Sharpless have various unproduced -- but sold! – scripts to their names so far, including Dracula Year Zero, Flash Gordon and an untitled "futuristic Jungle Book." (Give me the power, of man's red warp drive, so I can be like you!)
