We may not have asked for a reboot of RoboCop, but now that its on its way its refreshing that the film has a stellar cast attached. We’ve heard that Jose Padilha’s take will veer more towards the psychological side, but that’s about all we know story-wise.
Recently the guys over at Collider caught up with Joel Kinnaman, and he touched briefly about the plot.
“José has a completely different take on this than Verhoeven had, and with all respect, everybody that’s involved in this movie loved the original and we have a lot of respect for it. We’re going to have a lot of throwbacks and there’s going to be a lot of fun stuff for the fans of the first movie. It’s a new story within the old one.”
Gary Oldman will join Joel Kinnaman in the reboot.
That’s pretty much it, look for RoboCop in theatres on August 9, 2013.
