Warners sees TV-to-film adaptation as possible tentpole.

Variety reports that "Warner Bros. has been looking for a sci-fi-friendly scribe to get the script into shooting shape, as the studio views the pic as a potential tentpole." Warners believes that Joby Harold is the writer who can unlock this door with the key of imagination. Harold penned the upcoming alien war/time loop thriller All You Need is Kill, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.
The trade adds, "Unlike the 1983 feature that had four separate storylines, this pic will have one story that features elements from the Twilight Zone universe made popular by Rod Serling's classic TV series."
Leonardo DiCaprio is producing the TV-to-film adaptation for Warner Bros. via his Appian Way company. Matt Reeves (Let Me In, Cloverfield) will direct. The most recent draft was scripted by Sherlock Holmes' Anthony Peckham.
