  • Hasbro and Sony Team for Tonka Trucks Movie

It's exactly what it sounds like.

Yep, it's happening. Sony Pictures Animation and Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions will soon be adapting Hasbro's Tonka brand toys for the big screen.

According to the announcement, the film will be shot as a motion-capture animated feature, with a script from Fred Wolf (Grown Ups, Joe Dirt). The new project further solidifies ties between Sony and Hasbro, which are also producing adaptations of Hasbro's Risk and Candy Land boardgames. (Candy Land is also a Happy Madison project.)

"In its 65 years, Tonka has become more than a toy or a brand -- Tonka trucks are a rite of passage for kids all around the world," said Bob Osher, president of Sony Pictures Digital Productions. "Time spent with these toys creates memories that last a lifetime as kids are inspired to play using the boundaries of their imagination. We look forward to creating a family friendly motion picture that brings the Tonka experience to life."

Prepare to get tough -- Tonka tough, that is.
