Oscar winner Stanton reportedly back to direct sequel.
John Carter may have been one of the year's biggest flops, but director Andrew Stanton still has friends he can count on at Disney and his old stomping grounds at Pixar. The filmmaker, who helmed the original Finding Nemo for Pixar, has reportedly agreed to direct a Nemo sequel for the animation studio.
Deadline claims Stanton has "now officially come aboard the Finding Nemo sequel and has a concept the studio loves." They added that Disney, meanwhile, is looking to give him another shot at directing a live-action film, what with all the money and Oscars he won for Disney with his work at Pixar.
Finding Nemo is being re-released in 3D on September 14.
