Battleship star reportedly offered lead role in video game movie.
Actor Taylor Kitsch may be coming off two of the year's biggest bombs, John Carter and Battleship, but that's not stopping DreamWorks from wanting him to star in Need for Speed, their planned movie adaptation of the EA video game.
Zap2It reports that the "studio says no offer has been extended; our reliable sources maintain that Kitsch is the sole contender for the role." They add that Kitsch's reps are considering the project. The actor can currently be seen onscreen in Savages.
Need for Speed will directed by Act of Valor's Scott Waugh from a screenplay by John and George Gatins. It's slated for a February 7, 2014 release.
