Another helping of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp weirdness.
Warner Home Entertainment will bring Tim Burton's reboot of Dark Shadows to Blu-ray, DVD and digital download October 2, 2012.
The pricey $150 million film, starring Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Helena Bonham Carter and Chloƫ Grace Moretz, was largely sold as a return to Burton's darker, gothic roots. Alas, it was not a major hit with critics (read our theatrical review here) or with audiences, grossing just under $80 million in the U.S. However, the film was a decent success overseas, earning just under $160 million.
Dark Shadows will come to Blu-ray presented in 1080p (1.78:1 aspect ratio), mixed in 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. The DVD will feature an anamorphic widescreen transfer with 5.1 Dolby Digital audio.
Extras on the Blu-ray will include the following:
Maximum Movie Mode
The Collinses: Every Family Has Its Demons
Becoming Barnabas
Welcome To Collinsport!
Reliving a Decade
Angelique: A Witch Scorned
Alice Cooper Rocks Collinsport!
Dark Shadowy Secrets
A Melee of Monstrous Proportions
Dark Shadows: The Legend Bites Back
Six Deleted Scenes
DVD Copy
UltraViolet Cloud Streaming Digital Copy
The DVD will include an UltraViolet copy of the film as "The Collinses: Every Family Has Its Demons" Focus Point featurette.
Suggested retail for the Blu-ray is $35.99. Amazon has the BD available for pre-order for $25.19. SRP for the DVD is $28.98.
