Bill Murray Off Ghostbusters 3 (Again)

Dan Aykroyd dicusses Murray's involvement and talks start date.

First he was, then he wasn’t, then he might. And now it looks like Bill Murray definitely won’t be reprising his role as Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters 3.

Speaking to the Metro, Murray’s co-star and the driving force behind the project Dan said “No, I can tell you he won’t be involved.”

And in reference to the fact that a new set of actors would be Ghostbusting in the sequel. Aykroyd said “It’s sad, but we’re passing it on to a new generation. Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill. My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn’t seem to be coming and we have to move on. It’s time to make a third one.”

As for a start date, Aykroyd believes Ghostbusters 3 will go into production next year. So would you want to see a Murray-free threequel?
