  • Good News for Prometheus 2

But screenwriter Damon Lindelof may not be able to return.

Filmmaker Ridley Scott and 20th Century Fox are now actively pushing for a follow-up to June's quasi-Alien prequel Prometheus, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

While the $130 million-budgeted film pulled in a solid $303 million globally, Scott and the studio want to make sure the story is pitch perfect before they move into production. "Ridley is incredibly excited about the movie, but we have to get it right. We can't rush it," said Fox President of Production Emma Watts.

Stars Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace have already signed on for another film, but Scott may soon be in search of a new writer as Prometheus scribe Damon Lindelof might not be available.
