It looks like the much anticipated N.W.A. movie has begun filming, as Dr. Dre tweeted a photo of himself on the set alongside director F. Gary Gray.
The much buzzed about N.W.A. biopic has been a long time coming for hip hop fans. There has been talks of this project for years now, and several times we had even heard the project would never come to fruition.
Well it looks like things are finally moving forward as former N.W.A. member, and current super producer business mogul, Dr. Dre revealed a snapshot of both him and director F. Gary Gray strolling alongside each other on what appears to be the set for the movie. Dr. Dre released the photo with a short caption.
“Dre & F Gary Gray – The NWA Movie kicks off the collaboration! Expect more incredible projects from this powerhouse duo,” Dr. Dre tweeted.
Although we details are rather sparse on the project, Ice Cube had expressed several times that he was looking for his son to play himself in the project, and also confirmed that they still had every intention of shooting the movie.
No word as to when this project will hit theaters, but we will keep you posted on the development.
