  • Forest Whitaker is The Butler in the Film's First Still

The very first image from Lee Daniels' The Butler is now online, courtesy of Variety. As you can see below, it features Forest Whitaker as the title character, Eugene Allen, who worked at the White House for 34 years.

Whitaker is joined by a cast that includes Oprah Winfrey, David Oyelowo, Liam Neeson, John Cusack, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda, Robin Williams, James Marsden, Aml Ameen and Liev Schreiber.

Based on Wil Haygood's report "A Butler Well Served by This Election," the film tells the true story Allen, who worked for eight presidents, starting with Harry Truman in 1952 and ending in 1986 with Ronald Reagan.

Haygood, who will be an associate producer and researcher on the project, noted that when Allen started work at the White House, he couldn't even use the public restrooms when he ventured back to his native Virginia.
