I think we can all agree that the casting of Gina Carano in the female Expendables movie being developed is a no brainer choice. The professional MMA fighter recently starred in the action-thriller Haywire and is currently shooting Fast Six. Carano is a rising female action star, and a movie like this is a great new project for her to kick ass in. Producer Adi Shankar had this to say in a statement about the casting of Carano,
I don't know how I'm supposed to make a movie that is supposed to be the female version of 'The Expendables' without Gina Carano in it. It would be like making Twix without caramel or Jamba Juice without jamba.
The production company developing the project is currently in talks with several other actresses that are involved with the action genre. There's no information on who else they are talking to, but it's easy to imagine who else they might be trying to get.
