I'm really hoping that Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger turns out to be a great western, especially after all of the money that Disney is pumping into it. I'm a big fan of the western film genre, and The Lone Ranger deserves a bad ass big screen adaptation. Johnny Depp stars as Tonto in the movie, and Armie Hammer takes on the title role. Here are a few new set photos and a video from the movie that gives you a behind the scenes look at the two actors in action and some cool set pieces.
The studio showed some cool footage at Comic-Con, but it didn't really blow me away, so hopefully they've got some better stuff. Here's part of the narration from the trailer, giving you a little insight into what the films focus will be,
From the time of Alexander the Great, no man could travel faster than the horse that carried him. Not anymore. Imagine time and space under the mastery of man — power that makes emperors and kings look like fools. Whoever controls this, controls the future.
Jerry Bruckheimer produced the film that also stars Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson, and Helena Bonham Carter.
Do you think this is going to turn out being a great film adaptation? Are you excited about the movie, and will it be a box office success?
