Apparently Woman in Black and Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliff wants to take on the lead role of the hunchback Igor in director Paul McGuigan’s upcoming Frankenstein adaptation. The movie is set up over at 20th Century Fox from a script written by Max Landis (Chronicle).
According to The Wrap, once the script for the film is completely finished the studio will start looking for actors to cast in the film. Now just because Radcliffe wants the role doesn't mean he's going to get it.
The movie is described as being a sci-fi take on the original Mary Shelley story, which focuses on themes of friendship and redemption. In a previous interview, Landis went into a bit more detail revealing that it will be a period piece told from the perspective of the character Igor, and all the interesting misconceptions surrounding the mythology of the story and character. The movie will also explore where Igor came from, and if Victor Frankenstein was actually a doctor or a drop out.
The hunchback character Igor is described as being pathologically dirty and dressed in old clowns clothing. You know what? I actually wouldn't mind seeing Radciffe in the role. I bet he could pull it off! What do you think of the possibility of Radcliffe playing Igor in the movie?
