Pineapple Express director David Gordon Green is looking to direct an adaptation of the classic children's book and TV series Little House on the Prairie. Sony Pictures is currently in negotiations to bring the story to life on the big screen. I never expected the guy who also directed Your Highness, Eastbound & Down, and The Sitter, to take on a movie property like Little House on the Prairie. Nothing is set in stone at this point, but the wheels are turning.
The book series was written by Laura Ingalls Wilder between 1932 and 1943 and focuses on farm life in the late 19th Century American West, and is based on her childhood memories. The books were adapted into a TV series that starred Michael Landon and featured Melissa Gilbert as Laura Ingalls Wilder, which ran from 1974-1983.
