Over the past few months we have been hearing quite a lot regarding Dimension Films and Blumhouse Productions’ upcoming feature Dark Skies. So for those of you who have been following this one may want to take down this following release date.
According to Box Office Mojo, Dark Skies is scheduled for a February 22, 2013 release date.
So with that date now locked in, perhaps a trailer is just around the corner?
From the Press Release:
“Dark Skies, the upcoming supernatural thriller from Blumhouse Productions (Insidious, Paranormal Activity, Sinister) written and directed by Scott Stewart (Priest, Legion), continues to fill out its cast in advance of production beginning later this summer. Josh Hamilton (The Bourne Identity, Something in the Water) joins as the male lead opposite Keri Russell as well as the up and coming Dakota Goyo (Real Steel, Thor).
Jason Blum and his Blumhouse Productions are producing the film alongside Alliance Films which will fully finance the picture. Dimension Films will distribute the film in the U.S. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Alliance Films’ Charles Layton will executive produce. Alliance Films will distribute in Canada, in the UK (via its Momentum Pictures subsidiary) and in Spain (via Aurum). Octane, IM Global’s genre division, is handling international rights.
Dark Skies is the latest film from Blumhouse Productions, which has pioneered a new model of studio filmmaking- producing high-quality micro-budget films for wide release like Insidious and the Paranormal Activity franchise.”
