Actor joins Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams in drama.
He was off the project for a few months, but Christian Bale has now officially signed on to David O. Russell's ensemble drama previously known as American Bull****. (The film is currently untitled.)
Bale, who worked alongside Russell in 2010's The Fighter, joins a cast that includes Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams (who also co-starred in The Fighter).
The Hollywood Reporter describes the film as being based on the true story of "a notorious financial con artist (Bale) and his mistress/partner in crime (Adams), who were forced to work with an out-of-control federal agent (Cooper) to turn the tables on other con artists, mobsters and politicians. At the center of the story is the passionate and volatile leader of the New Jersey state assembly (Renner) who is also the local hero and mayor of impoverished Camden."
Production is scheduled for mid-February on the East Coast, with a projected release date of late 2013.
