Dominic Cooper played Howard Stark in Captain America: The First Avenger, and now he's in negotiations to co-star in DreamWorks' big screen adaptation of Need for Speed. If cast he would star along side Aaron Paul and Imogen Poots.
The news comes from Variety who also gives a little rundown on the plot of the film. "Story follows an underground racecar driver (Paul) who owns a garage that modifies expensive cars to make them faster for racing. Framed and sent to prison when his best friend is murdered during a race, he seeks revenge upon his release."
Cooper will play a character named Dino, "an ex-NASCAR driver who uses his connections to the wealthy to create a business rebuilding and modifying supercars." Poots will play an exotic car dealer who does business with Paul and Cooper.
The film has also been described as being a "fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the 70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise. In Need for Speed, the cars are hot, the racing is intense and the story keeps players at the edge of their seat."
Act of Valor director Scott Waugh is developing the film based on a script written by George and John Gatins. The movie is set to start shooting next year and will be released on February 7th, 2014.
