Robert De Niro reportedly had a verbal confrontation with Jay-Z at Leonardo DiCaprio's birthday party this week over un-answered phone calls made by the actor to the rapper.
According to the New York Post, De Niro confronted Jay-Z at the bash, accusing the rapper of being disrespectful for not returning his calls. The incident began when Jay went over to the the actor's table to say hello, and the conversation that followed became the talk of the party.
Sources say the incident stems from a song that Jay agreed to record for the Tribeca Film Festival, as overheard in conversation between them. De Niro tried to contact the rapper about the details for the song and never received a response.
At the party, Jay tried to joke his way out of the situation, but was unable to. His wife, Beyonce even intervened, but star would not back down. A source close to Deniro states that it was a low-key, non-heated conversation that was overheard by others.
Reps for both De Niro and Jay-Z declined to comment on the event.
