Remember that direct-to-disc Fright Night sequel we informed you guys about recently? Well, is appears as if the ball is well and truly rolling as we have got word of the first cast member and the official synopsis courtesy of B-D.
According to the site, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment have green-lit production on Eduardo Rodriguez’s Fright Night 2 with Jaime Murray (Devil’s Playground, Botched) cast to play a Romanian vampire.
So, where do you think they will take sequel? Well, judging from the synopsis (view below) it seems as if this will be following the same plot details as the original, including the same characters, the only difference that I can see is that it is set in Romania. I mean, really!?
Synopsis: “When high school student Charlie attends a study abroad program with his horror obsessed friend “Evil” Ed and ex-girlfriend AMY in Romania, he soon discovers their young attractive professor Gerri (Jaime Murray) is a real life vampire. Too bad no one believes him. In fact, Evil Ed finds it amusing and it only feeds his vampire obsession. When Gerri turns Ed, Charlie seeks out Peter Vincent, the infamous vampire hunter (well, he plays one on TV) who is in Romania filming his show “Fright Night,” to teach him how to take down Gerri before she gets to Amy, who’s blood will cure Gerri of spending eternity as a vampire.”
