  • This is what the Lizard could have looked like in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy had a lot of frustrating aspects — including pretty much the whole third movie — but one of the biggest disappointments was that we spent all this time seeing Curt Connors as a supporting character, and then he never became the Lizard. And then, Marc Webb started over from scratch and gave us the Lizard right off the bat in Amazing Spider-Man.

But now, a concept artist who worked on Raimi's Spider-Man 2 has posted a glimpse of what Raimi's Lizard could have looked like.

Artist Constantine Sekeris posted a couple of images of a "Lizard Creature" on his blog recently. And the artist told Comic Book Movie that this was art from Spider-Man 2. Apparently, at one point, Sam Raimi wanted to have the second movie feature Spidey going up against Doctor Octopus, Harry Osborn as the Green Goblin, and the Lizard — until screenwriter Michael Chabon convinced him to narrow it down to just Doc Ock.

Sekeris' recently posted concept art also includes the werewolf from Cabin in the Woods, some creatures from Hellboy and Grimm, and some other recent superhero movies. Check out some of our favorites below, and see more at his site and at Comic Book Movie.
