Warner Bros. has released a great new featurette for the Jackie Robinson biopic 42, which was directed by Brian Helgeland (Mystic River writer). I'm not a very big baseball fan these days, I used to be! I love the history behind the sport, I love the movies based on it, but the game itself has just lost its magic for me. Regardless I'm still very excited about seeing this movie!
The film tells the life story of Robinson and his history-making signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers under the guidance of the team's general manager Branch Rickey. The movie stars Chadwick Boseman as the famous baseball player who broke pro baseball’s color barrier, Harrison Ford plays Branch Rickey, and Alan Tudyk and Lucas Black also co-star in the film.
The featurette includes footage from the film as well as interviews with Robinson’s widow, Rachel Robinson, the writer and director, and the cast of the film as they talk about the legendary baseball player that helped change the world. The inspiring true story hits theaters on April 13th! Enjoy the featurette!
