It looks like director James Gunn (Slither, Super) is prepping to shoot Guardians of the Galaxy this summer at Pinewood-Shepperton studios in the UK. I have no doubt this is going to be an epic film. It may not end up being as big as The Avengers, because it's full of characters that a lot of people aren't familiar with, but it's still sure to be a big hit.
Over the last month there's been a ton of casting news surrounding who might end up playing the main charaacter in the film, Star-Lord. Some of those actors include John Krasinski (The Office), Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville), Joel Edgerton (Zero Dark Thirty), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire), JimSturgess (Cloud Atlas), Lee Pace (Lincoln and The Hobbit), Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy), JamesMarsden (X-Men), and Sullivan Stapleton (Animal Kingdom). Some of the other character that need to be cast are Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Rocket Raccoon and Gamora.
The story follows a U.S. pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone wants. According to Joss Whedon the movie is going to be awesomely twisted, and I can't wait to see how it turns out!
