Following the box office success of Mama, Universal Pictures is now considering the prospect of a sequel.
"We think there's potential for a Mama franchise," said Universal president of international David Kosse. "We'd like to do another one. But those conversations are in the early stages. Mama is the first of this type of model that we've had enormous success with so there are more opportunities for this kind of film."
Having grossed $89.2 million -- $68.2 million in the U.S. alone -- along with the 43 territory openings yet to come, the outlook for Mama 2 is looking better all the time.
