It's been a year and a half since Dark Horse announced they were producing a CG movie based on its superb Beasts of Burden comic; if you've been eagerly awaiting the cinematic adaptation of Evan Dorkin and Jill Thompson's tale of the watch dogs who keep their neighborhood safe from the eldritch abominations that haunt it, that's a long time without an update. Happily, there's one today: Reel FX, the studio making the film, has hired Shane Acker to direct the film, and... well, okay, that's about it. Admittedly, it's not the biggest news. But since Acker is the Oscar-nominated director of 9, and since the movie is one step closer to actually getting made, it's still definitely good news.
