  • Jurrasic Park 4 Director Wants To Honor Previous Films

Regardless of the delay, Jurassic Park 4 is still moving forward and being prepared for production. The movie is set to be released sometime in 2015, and director Colin Trevorrow recently spoke with the Schmoes Know, and discussed the progress of the film, and how he wants to honor the films that came before. He seems to have a very positive attitude about the movie!

"It's incredible to have Steven, who's done this for decades and has such an incredible filmic knowledge and just understands the language of the story in a way that for us is very refreshing. It's not like getting notes from a studio executive, it's really just trying to crack this and make it the best it can be."

We've heard that the film will be a sequel to the previous films, but that was put into question when the movie was delayed. The director was asked if the film would be a reboot. Trevorrow laughed at the question and said:

"We don't want to create a new scoop here, but we definitely want to honor what came before us."

I'm not sure what that means because he didn't confirm or deny it. I hope that it's not a reboot, but I imagine it will be a little bit of both. Trevorrow went on to say,

"We are very aware of how much a certain generation especially cares about this movie and we talk about it all the time and really the conversation is: It’s not about us, it’s not about our careers, it’s – how do we make something that can stand with the first one."

Well, I hope he can pull it off! There's no confirmation on what the story will be about, but rumor has it that the story will return to Isla Nublar, the same island where the first film took place. Apparently Jurassic Park is going to be fully functional in the movie, and it's open to tourists. Of course, everything eventually turns into a terrible disaster. You can read more about it here.

What do you think about what the director had to say about the movie?
