About a week ago, Marvel announced that they had cast James Spader in the role of Ultron in Joss Whedon's Avengers sequel. That was a surprising, yet awesome, casting announcement. In a recent interview Whedon said Spader was fist first choice to take on the villain, and he explained why. This is what he told Marvel:
"Spader was my first and only choice, he's got that hypnotic voice that can be eerily calm and compelling. But he's also very human and humorous. Ultron is not Hal, Spader can play all of the levels. He's the guy to break the Avengers into pieces."
He then apparently included a maniacal evil laugh. I never had any doubt that Spader would be awesome in role, and I'm excited to see what he brings to the character.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will bring our favorite heroes back together again, along with a few new ones to face one of their deadliest foes yet. It's set to be released on May 1st, 2015!
