Jeffrey Reddick, the man who wrote the original spec script for the first “Final Destination” film, is teaming up with Global Renaissance Entertainment Group for a multi-picture deal.
Variety broke the news earlier today that the writer has partnered with the production company in order to create a series of films that feature “multi-ethnic and culturally diverse casts.” The first, of which, will be a horror film set on a college campus called “Superstition: Final Chance.”
Reddick will pen the script and serve as an executive producer on the project. There’s no word yet on who will direct, however, producers are currently in talks with someone.
With a title like “Superstition: Final Chance” and with it being set on a college campus, is anyone else getting an “Urban Legend” vibe? Which, I thought was an okay film. If this film is basically “Urban Legend” from the mind of the guy who created “Final Destination”, that could lead to an awesomely gruesome picture. It’ll be interesting to watch this project take shape and to see who they get as a director.
