  • SINISTER Director Up for DOCTOR STRANGE

Last month we learned that Marvel was looking at directors to develop their big screen adaptation of Doctor Strange. Today we have a new name to add to that list. According to THR's Borys Kit, Sinister director Scott Derrickson is also in the running! Derrickson is a talented director, and I actually wouldn't mind seeing him develop this project. He might just be my favorite director in the running now.

It was previously revealed that they were looking at Mark Andrews, who co-wrote and co-directed Pixar's Brave; Nikolaj Arcel, who wrote and directed 2013s best foreign film Oscar-nominated entry A Royal Affair; Dean Israelite, the director of Paramount's upcoming time-travel movie Welcome to Yesterday; and Jonathan Levine, the director of the Zombie rom-com Warm Bodies.

If Derrickson is ready and willing to do it then Marvel should end their search and hire the guy! Doctor Strange has to have an eerie feel to it, and I know that this director can capture the mystical realm of the Sorcerer Supreme.

The script is currently being written by Kung-Fu Panda screenwriters Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger. Hopefully they will turn in the solid script that this movie deserves.
