Sony Pictures has set Breck Eisner (The Crazies) to direct The Karate Kid 2, a followup to the 2010 Karate Kid remake starring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith.
Harald Zwart directed the first movie, which earned $343 million worldwide. Chan and Smith are still poised to return for the sequel, according to Deadline.
Based on the 1984 original, The Karate Kid tells the story of Dre Parker (Smith), whose move to China leads him to learn the ways of kung fu from an unlikely master (Chan).
