Latino-Review just posted a lengthy column by Da7e that goes into a ton of Star Wars: Episode VII SPOILERS. Da7E also offers some educated speculation and talks a lot about how awesome he is. And our friends at Latino-Review are awesome. They get all the scoops, the fancy ladies, the clothes, and the free creams and lotions. But my life is good. Reeaaallly good. I wake up every morning at 5am and compile lists and trivia posts. It’s the beeeest. I love it. It’s fantastic. (If you don’t what I’m quoting, what have you been doing with your life?)
I’ll keep to the more solid bits of info here, but if your thirst for all things Star Wars isn’t quenched after this, I definitely suggest exploring some of that speculation, or looking at the other half a dozen Star Wars related posts on our front page. On to the spoilers...
LR’s sources say that production is set to return to the location of Skelling Michael Island in Kerry, Ireland. They filmed scenes with Mark Hamill (and possibly Daisy Ridley) on the island in late July. Local vendors have been contracted out so that the island can be used once again in November. By that time the landscape will be grey and dark, a perfect place for…
“I’m hearing Skelling Michael Island is the location for the Sith Homeworld. Like in the Expanded Universe, the Sith were founded by a Jedi who practiced moral relativism thousands of years ago (a long LONG time ago in a galaxy far, far away). He met up with Plagueis and started going by the Sith name Darth Ruin. He split off to unite the Sith tribes under the Dark Side of The Force. I don’t know if all of that is going to be in the movie, but it’s going to get called back as we’ll have a new Ruin in the movie, whomever fancies himself the biggest threat (might this be my ‘Sith Inquisitor?’).
“Skelling Michael Island is the Sith Homeworld, the stone hut ruins on that island are a control center and the planet itself is somehow the weapon.”
This seems in line with Disney and Lucasfilm’s plans for a unified expanded universe that has already been set in motion with the animated series Star Wars Rebels and the book A New Dawn, and which will extend into comics, games, and more.
This next bit of information is an update to their earlier reports about the Inquisitors being in the film.
“I’m now pretty sure no one is going to call themselves an 'Inquisitor' in Episode VII, it’s more likely that these Sith baddies are ret-conned into the overall story arc since the prequel trilogy was so obsessed with the Sith duality (one master, one apprentice). I’m pretty sure there are just a lot of Sith, probably not called The Inquisitor, but still may be a cyborg. Just not the cyborg in the concept art.“
You can view the concept art he’s referring to and read more about that cyborg character here. LR also point out the Domhnall Gleeson (About Time) will not be playing Luke Skywalker’s son, as people previously speculated.
Ok, that’s the most solid stuff so far. Since Harrison Ford has recovered from his injury and production has resumed, we can only hope that more info is on its way. However, this is a J.J. Abrams film, so maybe it’ll just be more speculation from here on out. Feel free to post any speculation and theories you may have in the comments section below.
