Rocket Cat was the best thing that didn't make it into the final cut of Disney's Big Hero 6. Before the movie hit the big screen it went through a lot of different changes. One of the characters that the creative team were looking to include early on in the development process was Rocket Cat. Even though everyone on the team loved it, and the cat would have been a great character, they just couldn't really fit it into the story, so they let it go. But above you'll find a piece of concept art that was created by Mingjue Helen Chen featuring Rocket Cat in action.
According to io9, the Japanese marketing department loved Rocket Cat so much that they continue to throw him into their promotional materials even after he was cut from the film. Who knows? Maybe the character will show up in the sequel.
