It has been expected that Frank Grillo would return to the Marvel universe in Captain America: Civil War and reprise his role of Brock Rumlow, aka Crossbones. In a recent interview with EW, he confirmed that the studio has invited him back for some more action. Here’s what he said:
“[Winter Soldier] was only a taste of what’s to come with the next film, and I couldn’t be more humbled and excited. They just kind of called and said, ‘What kind of shape are you in? We’re going to need a body scan.’ They scan your body so that whatever you wear fits you like a glove…. We all know what Crossbones represents in his world, so when they called me and said we gotta do the body scan, I was like ‘Okay!’”
So that’s how they get those costumes looking so good on the actors! I need to get myself a body scan for a superhero outfit of my own.
Grillo will join Chris Evans as Steve Rogers and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. Jeremy Renner has said there are “whispers” of Hawkeye making an appearance as well. Daniel Bruhl was recently cast in a mystery role, and Chadwick Boseman will make his Marvel debut as Black Panther before getting his own solo film in November of 2017.
The movie is being written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and it will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. It's set to be released on May 6th, 2016.
