Wth X-Men: Days Of Future Past in the can, earning $746 million at the worldwide box office, Marvel is already hard at work on the next film: X-Men: Apocalypse.
With Bryan Singer is returning to the director's chair, there's official word that actor Oscar Isaac has been tapped for the main villain role of Apocalypse.
Not much is known about the film so far, but it follows Days of Future Past, was set in the 1970s. Set in the 1980s, it will see Michael Fassbender returning as Magneto, James McAvoy as Professor X and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. And a search is currently underway for actors to play young versions of Cyclops and Jean Grey/Marvel Girl.
Marvel teased Apocalypse in a coda during Days of Future Past ending credits. In comics, the villain born in the ancient Middle East with the mutant X-gene, making it possibly one of the first mutants on Earth. He boasts a host of powers, ranging from teleportation, psionic powers and the ability to morph his body's form and size.
Production for X-Men: Apocalypse is due to begin in early 2015 with a May 27, 2016 release date.
